Anderson Coopers camera crew attacked in Egypt. What a bunch of drama... you know this was orchestrated to portray CNN as non-establishment mouthpiece. With Baradei's book rushing to the shelves and the powers that be vying for manipulations in September, CNN will certainly orchestrate a propaganda war over the next few months to try to mitigate fallout in America for support for the War on Terror and support for change in the Muslim world. We are living amidst a teachable moment, where the facts of the American Empire must be accurately described to Muslims and non-Muslims alike and where the potential for alternative mobilization is huge. Every one of us must play a role in countering the propaganda war that will follow. Will we portray the Muslim world as needing the assistance of the West and accept Western solutions like Baradei, or will we all mobilize as one ummah and come together to call for Islam and sovereign solutions? The time is now, Anderson Cooper is an enemy of Islam, a propagator of the dawa of the Devil. We implore the Egyptians to run him out of dodge by any means necessary... Go home Anderson and give us that live interview so we can confront you on your extremist rhetoric.
Probably payback for coverage like this:
Arab TV vs. Polite People Like You
02/01/2011 by Peter Hart
An accidentally revealing moment from Rachel Maddow's interview with Martin Indyk of the Brookings Institution last night (MSNBC, 1/31/11):
MADDOW: Well, let me ask you about one tactical question in this diplomatic dance, I guess. Are American officials making appearances on Arabic language TV channels at this point? Should they be prioritizing doing that right now?
INDYK: Probably. I don't think they are doing a lot of that at the moment, partly because the Arab interviewers are likely to be a lot more pressing than polite people like you.
MADDOW: I think that is a great insult, thank you.
INDYK: No, that was meant as a compliment.
PERHAPS HE"'S TOO TIRED TO CONFRONT US ON OUR EXTREMIST RHETORIC
“A man jumped out of the crowd and tried to push us around,” Mr. Cooper told The Huffington Post. “It sort of allowed other people in the crowd to focus on us. Other people came out of the crowd. Somebody punched me in the head, and from there things escalated quickly.”
ReplyDeleteMr. Cooper decided to leave, but the crowd followed.
“They were following us, screaming at us, ripping at our clothes,” he said. “I’ve never been punched in the head before.”
“So they left an impression.”
